Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences
The University of Applied Sciences of Weihenstephan-Triesdorf currently consists of 7 scientific departments, including biotechnology, agriculture, forestry and horticulture. Several professors and scientific researchers are dealing with aspects of biogenic renewable resources from an agricultural, technological, processing, economic and social point of view. In this context research is carried out concerning the material and energetic use of renewable resources. Since 2001, HSWT is active in the Straubing Centre of Science. The Chair of Marketing and Management of Biogenic Resources
is located in this Centre. Among others the Chair focuses on the “role of new technologies (e.g. biotechnology, renewable resources)” as well as on “systems of innovation and management of innovations”. For example: The projects “Consumer acceptance of functional bakery products” and “Traditional European Union Food” had a look on the innovations on the food sector.

MINES ParisTech
MPT is a leading actor in French innovation system, due to high level of industrial research contracts, its investments in educating innovation (MSc. and PhDs) and research program on innovation management. Since 1994, the design and innovation team has initiated a novel education program on Innovative Design that has been applied in several French and foreign Engineering Schools and a research program, that has led to some groundbreaking results: C-K theory, by Hatchuel & Weil, which shows that creative design reasoning results from a rigorous but unexpected rationality. In the chair of Design Theory and Methods for innovation of MPT, it supports today a rigorous teaching of creative design, the development of new methods and organizaton in the industry and it is at the basis of an ambitious research program on creative design activities with two main axis: 1. Formal models of design and experimental approaches; 2. The management of Innovative design and collaborative innovation.
