DICAMP Partners at CLIC in Leipzig
On the 18th and 19th December 2012 the 4th DICAMP workshop took place at the Center for Leading Innovation & Cooperation (CLIC) / HHL City Campus in Leipzig. The workshop mainly focused on the implementation of the master programme and the preparation for its accreditation. The project partners also analyzed the outcomes of the first introducing lessons on business management which were taught to the DICAMP students in fall. Furthermore the course schedule as well as organizational issues of the implementation of the courses were discussed. The upcoming modules will be taught by European and Tunisian partners together in teaching teams. Besides the course schedule also the next steps for the international accreditation were fixed as well as the study trips for the DICAMP students to the European partner institutions in Germany, Great Britain and Germany were prepared. In summer 2013 the students will be abroad for several weeks in order to experience academic institutions in Europe and work on a specific topic either for a project study or a master thesis which is part of the master programme. The highlight of this 4th workshop was the Christmas party where our Tunisian partners enjoyed typical Christmas dishes and traditions like the white elephant gift exchange.
Check out the rest of this post for some pictures of the workshop and the party.

ENIT-student awarded with the first price for his research work
A fruitful collaboration between two members of our DICAMP project, ENIT and MINES ParisTech, led to a first price. Hassen AHMED, ENIT student, made a research project at MINES ParisTech (Chair of Design Theory and Methods for Innovation) on “Simulating risk management strategies for projects in double unknown situations -technical and market”. His research work was awarded the first price of the research projects of the ENSTA ParisTech and the Society of the Schools Friends. This is a great evidence of how productive and successful academic collaborations between Tunisia and Europe can be!
48h – the past years
Since the DICAMP students are enjoying their first lectures we grab the oppurtunity to entertain you a little bit. Our dear partner Helmi Ben Rejeb from ENIT pointed us to some quite enjoyable videos covering the events around the great “48 to innovate” challenge. If you are interested in the projects and atmosphere of the past three years, you should check them out. Continue reading
4th DICAMP-Workshop at HHL in Leipzig
As part of our DICAMP workshop series, our Tunisian partners will visit Leipzig from December 17th to 21st to participate in the fourth DICAMP workshop at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management from December 18th to 19th. We are looking forward to welcoming our Tunisian partners to Leipzig next week, an exciting workshop and to introducing our guests to German Christmas traditions!
48h to innovate – wrap-up
48 hours to innovate, the event we promoted earlier on this site, allowed nearly 200 students from ENIB, ENIT, ESSTED and DICAMP to let their creative juices flow. The event marked the end of the innovation week which took place in Tunis (at ENIT) and engaged 1st year engineering students in courses and lectures about innovation and creativity. As part of an international community with concurrent events in France, Chile, Mexico, Colombia and Canada the students developed new ideas and concepts on topics dealing with challenges provided by our industry partners in france. Altogether 13 groups consisting of engineering, business and design students worked interdisciplinary on their approach. After many hours of working, learning, arguing and laughing 13 groups presented their work in front of a jury and an audience at ENIT. The jury awareded the teams Prusa, Ultimaker and Z-corp for their work. Continue reading
48h to innovate
Knowing how to develop the individual and collective creativity, producing innovative ideas in a short time on a specific subject are essential skills for any engineer. To boost this kind of knowledge in Tunisia ENIT, ENIB, ESSTED and VivoEnergy organize a creativity and innovation workshop. The 48h to innovate workshop will be held in sessions in order to bring out innovative product ideas on topics assigned by partner companies belonging to different industries.
The goal for students is to learn how to carry out an innovation process, including: research and generate ideas, select and prioritize them in a time-limited situation, and mobilize partners along a development track. The event will take place on 16th and 17th of November 2012 at the National Engineering School of Tunis, in association with VivoEnergy Tunisia as official partner.

DICAMP welcomes the class of 2012
We were quite overwhelmed by the interest “DICAMP” generated in past weeks and months. Roughly 950 students wanted to be part of the programme and applied for one of the 30 available spots. During the 3rd DICAMP-workshop on the 4th and 5th of September the selected students were invited to get to know the lecturers and the organizational team. Integrating both – academia and industry – the overall picture of the class of 2012 is diverse and fascinating due to the various backgrounds. We are excited to teach and grow with our first 30 DICAMP-students and also curious to see how they will enrich the bigger picture of innovation in research and practice.

For those of you who did not make it: try again next year! Sometimes, innovation is just about persistence.
3rd DICAMP Workshop – Outcomes
During the course of the 3rd DICAMP Workshop in Tunis lecturers, organizational staff and the first students of the master programme got together to discuss the upcoming curriculum as well as other matters around the DICAMP project.
We were delighted to see most of our Tunisian and European partners on September 3rd at ENIT for the first meeting with the prospective and highly motivated students of the master programme. After the welcoming words of Prof. Reichwald and Prof. Bessant, the teaching team introduced themselves to the students and vice versa. Prof. Möslein gave a short overview about the relevant innovation literature most likely to be used during the studies. Furthermore the students received organizational information about staying abroad at a European institution, student life in Europe as well as the use of the DICAMP website. We hope this first and very pleasant encounter will be the start for a trustful and creative cooperation in the future.
